Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first pre-season goal for Leicester City in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Cambridge United.

The goal ended Iheanacho’s 10-month old goal drought, which dates back to September 2018 when he last found the back of the net for Leicester City.

The Nigeria international was a substitute in the Foxes pre-season 3-0 thumping of Cambridge United and he hit the net in the 83rd minute, courtesy of a header, for his side’s second goal on Tuesday night.

Before the goal, the 23-year-old had missed a sitter but he went on to redeem himself by netting a second for Leicester minutes later.

Elsewhere, Semi Ajayi made his first start for West Bromwich Albion in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with his former club, Rotherham United, just three days after joining the club.

Ajayi gave away a penalty two minutes into the game, when he tripped Freddie Ladapo. Ladapo roofed the resultant spot-kick before Dara O’Shea salvaged a draw for the Baggies.
