1. I collected Buhari’s certificate says Kyari

Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has told the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal that he collected the certificates of the President from Cambridge. He appeared as the third witness when the President opened his defence against the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar at the Tribunal.

2. IG orders nationwide clampdown on IMN leaders, members

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered a nationwide clampdown on the leaders and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN). This is coming on the heels of the order of the Federal High Court in Abuja proscribing the group on Friday.

3. Again, Presidency insists Boko Haram has been defeated

The Presidency has insisted that Boko Haram insurgents have been defeated despite recent killings of over 60 persons at a funeral procession by the insurgents in Borno State which took. This claim was made in a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

4. Abia State: Federal roads in bad shape, as run-away contractors abandon projects

Investigation by Ripples Nigeria reveals that the federal roads in Abia State are death traps while some reportedly under repairs have been abandoned by contractors. The Nkporo-Abiriba-Ohafia, Enugu-PH expressway, Umuahia-Bende-Ohafia road, Arochukwu-Ohafia road work are ongoing while works has stopped at the Ohafia-Oso road in Abia/Ebonyi, Olokoro-Isiala-Oboro-Nnono junction, Umuahia-Ariam-Ikot-Ekpene Olokoro-Ahiaukwu-Itaja-Obuohia-Ikwuano, Abiriba-Arochukwu-Ohafia and partly Ahiaukwu-Amangwo-Umuahia.

5. APC accuses Atiku of acting like shadow President

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of presenting himself as a shadow President which the party said, makes him an impostor. This was in reaction to a statement issued by Atiku congratulating new British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson over his election victory and thanking him for nominating a Nigerian as a minister.

6. Tribunal upholds Wike’s re-election

The petition filed by candidate of the Peoples Progressive Party (PPP), Clifford Edanuko, against the re-election of Governor Nyesom Wike has been struck out by the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Port Harcourt.

7. BMO asks Obasanjo to emulate Abdulsalami

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has called on former President Olusegun Obasanjo to emulate General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s unifying peace initiative and peaceful disposition on Nigeria problems and drop the divisive efforts he had in recent times been engaged in.

8. Borno Govt orders massive sanctions of health workers

The Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has ordered the Directors of the State Specialist Hospital and Umaru Shehu Hospital to sanction some medical staff who were missing during his visit to the hospital in the midnight.

9. A peep into Nigeria’s booming recycling industry

A special report by Ripples Nigeria has shown the booming recycling industry in Nigeria. It showed, that nothing is a waste in Nigeria. Bennett Mbah, a dealer on different types of metals, in Onitsha, Anambra State, has explained that the business of buying and recycling metals to produce other commodities has lifted many out of poverty and created jobs for unemployed youths.

10. Ogunbote takes over Lobi Stars

The former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) winners, Lobi Stars have signed up the services of Gbenga Ogunbote as their new coach. Ogunbote has been with Enugu Rangers for two years before being unveiled as the Coach
