The Presidency has noted that it did not suspend the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP) contrary to speculation in many quarters. This assertion came from the Senior Policy Adviser (Agriculture Interventions Coordination) in the Office of the Vice President Andrew Kwasari in Abuja on Tuesday.

A northern Christian group Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association has cautioned the Federal Government to desist from any secret plot to establish Ruga settlements for Fulani herders across Nigeria. The National Chairman of ACIPA, Rev Luke Shehu, in a statement warned that any attempt by the government to hand over indigenous land to Fulani herders would be met with stiff opposition.

Protesting members of the Shiite group have reportedly shot three policemen on duty at the National Assembly, Concise News reports. One of the policemen was rushed to the National Assembly clinic around 1.55p.m. The protesters also burnt some cars during the protest.

Fourteen lawmakers tied to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Edo State on Tuesday stormed the National Assembly to demand proper inauguration of Edo Assembly by Governor Godwin Obaseki. Led by Comrade Peter Akpatason and Julius Ihonvbere, the lawmakers moved a motion asking the National Assembly to take over the running of Edo Assembly.

Ex-Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development Aisha Alhassan has said that she might not be destined to be governor of Taraba state, northeast Nigeria. Concise News understands that Alhassan, who ran for the highest office in Taraba on the platform of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the 2019 general election, visited the state Governor, Darius Ishaku, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday.

A former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s only goal was to win the country’s number one seat. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, says there was no riot at its orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos on Sunday but that corps members were ordered to go to bed early as a preventive measure to forestall any attack from cult groups. Concise News reports that Mrs Joyce Madaki, NYSC Public Relations Officer made the declaration on Monday while reacting to the report of an alleged riot at the Lagos NYSC Orientation Camp over the weekend.

The Nigerian Army has rubbished reports (not on Concise News) on the appointment of Major General Lamidi Adeosun as the new Chief of Army Staff. Concise News understands that there were reports on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai with Adeosun.

A Niger Delta-based cleric Most Reverend Tunde Adeleye has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign because the Nigerian leader has “failed.” Concise News understands that Adeleye is the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Niger Delta of the Anglican Communion.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has admitted having a selection “headache” as Nigeria take on South Africa at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Nigeria will battle the Bafana Bafana on Wednesday in a quarter-final tie at the competition.
