Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere chairman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, has been killed by persons suspected to be herdsmen, the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, has said. Naija News reports that in a terse message sent to The PUNCH on Friday by the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, over the killing of his daughter Funke Olakunrin. Naija News had reported earlier that the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation announced the killing of Mrs. Olakunrin by suspected herdsmen in a terse message sent to The PUNCH on Friday by the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has “condemn, in the strongest possible terms” the killing of Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of Afenifere chairman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. Naija News had reported earlier that the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation announced the killing of Mrs. Olakunrin by suspected herdsmen in a terse message sent to The PUNCH on Friday by the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu says killers of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, must be apprehended and made to face the law. Naija News understands that the Ondo state governor made the declaration while reacting to the dastardly killing of Mrs. Olakunrin by gunmen on Friday, July 12.

The suspension of the National Chairman, African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore has been sustained by a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja. Naija News recalls that the embattled the AAC’s national chairman, who is also the presidential candidate of the party was suspended alongside Fabiyi, as party’s leaders following allegations against them, while Mr. Leonard Nzenwa was appointed the acting national chair.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday rejected an appeal challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic qualification. The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, dismissed the suit on the grounds that it was statute-barred.
